About

Born in Montego Bay, Jamaica, Tommy Lee Sparta discovered his passion for music early on. Performing at school and community gatherings in Flankers, he was inspired by his local audience to pursue a professional music career. His first recording, "Spartan Story," was followed by several other tracks, including his breakout hit, "Warn Dem." These songs quickly made him a household name in western Jamaica and a sought-after performer.

His talent caught the attention of Vybz Kartel, leading to Tommy Lee Sparta joining the Portmore Empire. Under Kartel's guidance, he recorded new music and made his major debut at Reggae Sumfest. He later made a significant solo impact at the Sting festival. His prominence grew with his first number-one record, "Some Bwoy (Link Pon Chain)," solidifying him as a breakout act. He further dominated the charts with "Psycho."

Tommy Lee Sparta honored Jamaica's Olympic team and Usain Bolt by re-recording his chart-toppers, which became unofficial anthems for supporters. He then released the controversial yet popular single "Shook (Uncle Demon)," inspired by Michael Jackson's "Thriller." While the "Uncle Demon" persona was intended as an alter ego, its misinterpretation led him to release "Spartan Angels" to express his perspective.

His innovative spirit continued with the groundbreaking "Captain Sparta" music video, the world's first fully animated dancehall music video, released under his company Guzu Musiq. He also contributed the hit track "Psycho" to the massively successful game Grand Theft Auto 5.

Tommy Lee Sparta aims to elevate dancehall music globally through his versatile style, drawing inspiration from reggae, dancehall, hip hop, pop, EDM, and rock. Influenced by artists like Vybz Kartel, Michael Jackson, and Bob Marley, his unique "Gothic dancehall" sound and distinctive lyrics are capturing international attention on his journey to success.
