Sliq Teq

Masembe Datus, professionally known as Sliq Teq, is a Ugandan urban hip-hop beatmaker, songwriter, and rapper hailing from Ntinda. Also known as Beat So Sliq, Datus has collaborated with a diverse range of hip-hop artists including Byg Pryce, Abaasa, P.i.F, H.A.B.O, NTM, O.P.U, Llyboc, Black Reign, URBAN AKSENT, Jhay Efekt, Sulphuric, and super producer Lawraid Vybz.

After a brief hiatus from his studies, Datus founded the music collective KLAP (Kampala Peoples Music) with HABO and Krae. The group released the well-received track "She Don't Mix Her Drinks." Following KLAP's dissolution, Datus explored fashion with the clothing line XP before reigniting his passion for music. He later joined the NTM crew.

Datus began crafting beats early on, with his first beat tape gaining traction at Dustville Records. His productions have since featured on notable projects, including Byg Pryce's "Kambajuliire" mixtape. Currently pursuing a degree in industrial fine arts, Datus is also dedicated to his debut Extended Play project, #KITone. Anticipate more impactful work from Datus on upcoming mixtapes and projects.
