Sister Charity, born Kobutungi Charity, is a talented artist whose music resonates deeply with her audience. Hailing from a family of six, she discovered her passion for singing early on. She began her musical journey with the TYE (Train the Youth Effort) band, where she honed her skills and gained the confidence to pursue a solo career.
Her breakthrough came when band leader Charles Lwanga, also known as Rasta Charz, recognized her immense talent. He composed the hit song "Grade," popularly known as "Ekikoona," which propelled Sister Charity to fame, particularly in the western region.
While pursuing her education in Accountancy, Sister Charity continued to develop her musical prowess. She joined Rays Band, led by Rasta Charz, and has been performing with them ever since. Beyond her music, she also shares her vibrant personality as a TV presenter on TV West, hosting a morning show.
Sister Charity has released nine albums, showcasing her versatility and dedication to her craft. Her music, primarily in her native Runyankole, often explores themes of family and community. She has also contributed to impactful projects, such as the "AM A UGANDAN" initiative, with her song "NDI OMUNYA UGANDA," a collaboration with her co-presenter and fellow musician, Santana.
