Ricky Wynter

Kakooza Muzamiru, known professionally as Ricky Wynter, is a Ugandan musician whose journey began with a childhood fascination for music heard on the radio. This early inspiration blossomed into a passion, leading him to perform covers on stage throughout his school years.

His professional recording career took flight with his first song recorded at Swangz Avenue studio. This marked the beginning of a significant collaboration with fellow artist Geosteady, who introduced Ricky to producer Benon. Together, they crafted tracks like "Wobeera," featuring Kian Banks. Ricky's visual artistry also emerged with his debut music video for "Dance Party," directed by Didi Pix.

Over time, Ricky Wynter forged strong musical bonds with artists such as Geosteady, King Saha, Kian Banks, and Leon Neo, resulting in several collaborative songs. His talent also caught the eye of renowned video director SPK Filmz, who recognized Ricky's potential and became instrumental in connecting him with influential figures and studios across the country, providing ample opportunities to hone his craft. SPK Filmz further supported Ricky's burgeoning career by directing his music videos.

Ricky Wynter has since worked with a diverse array of talented producers, including Alex (A.I.P), Diggy Baur (Sound Cava), Dr. Fizol (Avie Records), Just Jose (Swangz Avenue), Benon (Swangz Avenue), Nash (Swangz Avenue), and Imon Pro (South Syde), among others. He has amassed an impressive catalog, having recorded over fifteen songs and penned more than two hundred, including works for other artists.

Ricky Wynter's versatility is a cornerstone of his artistry, drawing inspiration from genres such as dancehall, reggae, R&B, hip hop, and Afropop, with influences from legendary artists like Michael Jackson, Lucky Dube, and UB40. He has graced stages alongside international acts like Konshens and Alaine, as well as prominent local talents, further solidifying his presence in the music scene.
