Mr Raa

Mr Raa, the alias of Muyinda Ramah, is a Ugandan artist whose musical journey began in Kampala. Raised in a large family, his passion for music was ignited by his elder brothers and father, who had ties to the legendary Afrigo Band. Early on, his talent for energetic performances was evident, representing his primary school in cultural music and dance. He further honed his skills in school and church choirs, even drumming in the church band.

His teenage years saw him gain popularity for his vibrant dancing, drawing comparisons to prominent Jamaican artists. Alongside his friend PJ, he became known for their captivating musical performances, earning them the nickname "Benon & Vampos."

Mr Raa's first recorded single, "Ye nze" (This is me), was a personal creation, though its release was initially hindered. Undeterred, he pursued his musical aspirations, balancing them with his education. During his time at Kisuubi High School, he found encouragement and exposure, even collaborating with future talents. He completed his senior secondary education excelling in academics and a wide range of extracurricular activities, including music, dance, and sports, while also writing original rap compositions and co-writing songs.

A significant turning point came with the recording of his first official single, "Isabella." This love song garnered radio play and club attention, leading to a major deal with Cas de Ras Entertainment. The release of the "Isabella" music video introduced Mr Raa to the East African market. He navigated the challenge of pursuing higher education in Law alongside his burgeoning music career, ultimately prioritizing his artistic path.

Under Cas de Ras, Mr Raa gained invaluable experience through numerous performances and collaborations. Following the company's closure, he joined Swangz Avenue, continuing to release music that kept him in the public eye. A performance in Sweden expanded his international fan base.

Mr Raa has recorded an unreleased album and numerous singles, and has collaborated with a diverse range of artists. He has also performed to massive crowds in Italy. Currently, he is launching his own record label, "COHE RECORDS," and is working on his first commercial album, "L.E. (LEGAL ENTERTAINER)," which will feature local, regional, and international talent. He is also assembling a band to elevate his live performances to an international standard.
