Mc Wang Jok

Ivan Rubangakene Ochaya, known as Mc Wang Jok, is a celebrated Afro-rap performer and the originator of Luo Synthesis Rap. Hailing from Gulu town in Northern Uganda, his passion for rap music ignited at a young age, inspired by his father's collection of tapes.

Mc Wang Jok's journey in music began with forming rap crews, first BNM and later the influential Underground Blacks Movement. These early collaborations honed his skills and established his presence in Gulu's hip-hop scene.

He went on to co-found the renowned Bila Wa Movement, a platform that masterfully blends rap, poetry, and Afro instrumentals to deliver impactful messages. Their hit song "Lapiny" gained significant airplay both within and beyond Uganda, leading to international recognition and interviews.

Mc Wang Jok's distinctive style and conscious lyricism have earned him widespread acclaim. His solo work, including the widely regarded "Atye Ka Tic," solidifies his status as a prominent hip-hop artist in the region, a household name synonymous with poetic and motivational artistry. He is currently managed by Talent Avenue UG.
