Lion G

Lion G, born Kigundu Geofrey, discovered his passion for performance at fifteen. While in senior four at Baale Secondary School, he honed his skills through miming and acting in school drama competitions. These early experiences, coupled with writing and performing his own songs over instrumentals by other artists, built his confidence.

Facing financial challenges that prevented further education, Lion G left his home district of Kayunga for Kampala, determined to pursue his musical ambitions. Despite lacking funds for production and promotion, he continued to write prolifically. After a year in Kampala, he secured the resources to record his debut single, "Nyinyonyola," at Hinterland Records with Ronnie Da Don. The song, inspired by a personal love story, resonated with listeners.

Driven by the success of other artists who overcame adversity, Lion G remained resolute. He recorded his second single, "Ensonga," also at Hinterland Records. This period saw him actively building connections within the music industry, collaborating with radio presenters, promoters, DJs, and TV personalities who offered invaluable support.

Now poised to make a significant impact, Lion G is set to release a steady stream of music, aiming to establish himself as a dominant force in the Ugandan music scene.
