KSL discovered a passion for hip-hop at a young age, honing his lyrical skills with inspiration from the raw styles of Nas and DMX. By thirteen, he'd penned his first track, and at nineteen, his talent was recognized when he won a rap battle hosted by KPC (now Watoto Church).
