About

Kizaza, born Alino Kizaza, is an underground rapper and songwriter based in Kampala, Uganda. His journey into Hip-Hop began in Kinshasa, DRC, where he was captivated by the genre. Despite a conservative upbringing and the nascent Hip-Hop scene in Congo, Kizaza dedicated himself to honing his craft. Driven by a desire to connect with the global Hip-Hop community, he taught himself English, a pivotal step that allowed him to write and perform his own songs in the language.

His early releases in Kinshasa garnered attention, marking him as a promising talent. The escalating conflicts in Congo eventually led Kizaza to seek refuge in Uganda. In Kampala, he embraced the vibrant English-speaking music scene, performing at local venues and saving to fund his mixtape project, 'Positive Addition.' He also found purpose in teaching English to fellow refugees, a role that allowed him to connect with and inspire youth through his music.

Kizaza's music reflects his experiences as a displaced person, offering a message of resilience and hope. His mixtape, 'Positive Addition,' features tracks with a positive outlook, aiming to promote good vibes and empower African youth. His influence is now strongly felt in Kampala's underground Hip-Hop scene, with his independent label, KizAzaMusic, championing his work and that of emerging talents. Kizaza continues to write and release music, aspiring for a wider breakthrough while solidifying his position as a significant voice in the African Hip-Hop landscape.
