About

Born and raised in Kampala, Uganda, Jacobz Nsaali's voice is a cherished inheritance. His mother and grandmother possessed beautiful singing voices, a talent Jacobz embraced early on. His musical journey began in the school choir, leading to the formation of an a cappella group that performed at public events.

Jacobz possesses an incredible vocal range, effortlessly shifting between tenor, alto, soprano, and even bass. He masterfully handles his own background vocals and fluidly navigates multiple musical styles, from Afro Beat and Country to Contemporary Afro RnB. His sound is influenced by international artists like Peabo Bryson, Elton John, Luther Vandross, and Kenny Rogers.

He first captured East African attention representing Uganda on the televised show ‘Tusker Project Fame.’ His soulful performances earned him the endearing nickname ‘King of the Blues.’ Though he didn't win, the experience provided invaluable musical education and industry insight, proving more impactful than any prize.

Initially singing predominantly in English, Jacobz later embraced Luganda to build a local following. His recent work, including tracks like ‘Coconuto’ and ‘Afraid to Love,’ sees him returning to English.

Beyond music, Jacobz is a man of many talents, having played for a basketball club and holding a degree in MIS BBA. However, his true passion lies in music, his first love. He has successfully released his album ‘Ddembe Ssa’ and is currently working on new material. Jacobz has collaborated with notable Ugandan producers including Paddyman, Crouch, Diggy Baur, Ronnie the Don, Big Nash, and Anel Lukwago.
