IAmMCLuliba, born Katumba Tonny Luliba, was raised by his mother, Nalubega Imeldah, and supported by his loving maternal grandparents, the Salongo Sekyalo family. From a young age, IAmMCLuliba gravitated towards hip-hop, pop, R&B, and reggae. He honed his performance skills at family gatherings, captivating audiences with his rapping and singing. His natural talent for urban hip-hop and a strong voice were evident early on.

In school, IAmMCLuliba actively participated in drama and entertainment clubs, organizing performances that showcased his passion and boosted his confidence. Encouraged by teachers and maintaining promising grades, he continued his education. During high school, he further developed his stage presence as a battle rapper, emcee, and entertainer, solidifying his ambition to become a major showbiz icon.

While pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science at Nkumba University, IAmMCLuliba's musical journey took a significant turn. He reconnected with an old friend who introduced him to a recording studio. This led to the formation of the group Hiphop Veterans in 2009, alongside Mc Sexton, Wyclif, and others.
