About

Danielle D.I. radiates a contagious warmth, much like the tropical island of her birth. Friends describe her as effervescent and feisty, yet humble and warm, a spirit that deeply influences her music. Free-spirited and believing in happiness regardless of circumstance, she possesses the talent destined for global success. Raised near the home of Bob Marley, she aims to follow in his footsteps as an ambassador for her homeland.

Her musical journey began in high school, absorbing the sounds of Patra, Lady Saw, Beenie Man, Hip Hop, and R&B artists like Lil' Kim, Jay-Z, Foxy Brown, and Usher, who remain her favorites. She honed her songwriting skills while studying in the U.S. Driven by a passion for reggae, she returned to her island home to pursue her recording career.

Upon her return, Danielle D.I. collaborated with leading Jamaican producers, earning high marks for her potential. Her debut release, "Turn Him On," co-produced and featuring Ce'Cile, quickly garnered local and Caribbean airplay, establishing her as a rising star in dancehall reggae. Charm, passion, and drive led to collaborations with Gramps Morgan and dancehall icon Beenie Man on the upbeat track "Brown Girl in the Ring," which brought her increased popularity and a memorable nickname.

Her demand grew, leading to the release of "Downtown Man" with Birchill Records, solidifying her status. She graced major festivals like Reggae Sumfest, Sunsplash, and Sting. Her next hit, "Beat It," produced by DJ Karim, established her as a formidable force, leading to international shows in Chicago, New York, Trinidad, and London. The track's success caught the attention of Vybz Kartel, who remixed it, impressing Danielle with his lyrical genius. She later partnered with Truck Back Records for the successful recording "Man Weh Mi Nuh Want."

Committed to her goals, Danielle D.I. has undergone intense vocal training and assembled a strong support team. Her single "Jamaican Girl," produced by Stephen "Supa-Hype" Davis, continues to resonate with the Jamaican diaspora worldwide, with its accompanying video receiving heavy rotation. Her latest single, "Big Man," produced by Taxi Records (Sly and Robbie) and featuring Shabba Ranks, has garnered significant recognition and reviews, following the breakthrough success of "Rebel."

With her sights set on international stardom, Danielle D.I. has been recording with music legends Sly and Robbie, preparing for her debut album. Her smash combination "Rebel," produced by the Grammy-nominated duo Sly and Robbie and featuring Cherine Anderson, has received rave reviews and is considered a dancehall anthem. These tracks, along with others, will be featured on her upcoming EP, "Danielle D.I.: The Rebel," showcasing her versatile sound that fuses her influences into something both familiar and fresh. A full-length album is also in deep production.
