Buka Chimey

Buka Chimey, born Musolo David, is an award-winning Ugandan recording and performing artist, poet, and composer. He is the visionary founder of Bantu Clan, Uganda's pioneering Hip Hop band dedicated to unifying cultures, celebrating life, and expressing consciousness through heartfelt music.

Bantu Clan's sound is a captivating fusion, blending traditional indigenous sounds with Western influences to create a harmonious marriage of cultures. Their music offers a groovy, conscious Hip Hop experience imbued with a down-home charm, featuring authentic rap, melodic hooks, and vibrant, thoughtful lyrics.

Buka Chimey's musical journey has been shaped by collaborations with prominent figures in the music industry, including Kaz Kasozi, Timothy S Kizito, Santuri Deejay’s, Saint Evo, Mukalazi David, and Jude Mugerwa. He has also benefited from Mr. Eazi's emPawa Africa initiative, expanding his reach across borders.

His electrifying live performances are brought to life by an exceptional band, featuring Ernest Otim on bass, Sam Mukuki on lead guitar, Sula Jemba Fola on percussion, Emong Emma on drums, and Jowie on keyboards.

Currently, Buka Chimey is garnering significant media attention for his music, including his latest release "Beer After Beer." He also works with Bantu Productions, an audio-visual production house with operations in both Uganda and the USA.
