About

Bantu Clan The Tribe is an indigenous Hip Hop collective on a mission to unite cultures, define Uganda's unique sound, and share it with the world. Their music, a fusion of soothing, groovy conscious Hip Hop with a heartfelt, down-home charm, blends traditional indigenous sounds with Western influences. Authentic rap, captivating melodies, and hook-laden conscious lyrics delivered in multiple native languages from Uganda and Zimbabwe are earning them significant recognition across East Africa and beyond.

Driven by a passion for cultural unification and the discovery of authentic indigenous sounds, the band's journey began with Chimey Mc. Joined by Geno Mafeey, LjdAlikaliba, and Byg Ben, who championed the use of indigenous languages, their vision took shape. Later, Chimey Mc expanded the collective by recruiting Kendie Lava, a vocalist from Zimbabwe with exceptional vocal talent and creative flair, and legendary producer/songwriter Mukalazi David, who brought his extensive experience and belief in their artistic direction. Ernest Otim, renowned as the "Groove King" for his inventive bass solos, joined as music director and producer, bringing his mastery of live performance. The dynamic ensemble was further enriched by the addition of Odeta, a versatile drummer and percussionist, and Mc Twitch, a powerful female emcee whose unique stage presence and vocal abilities make her stand out.

Rebranded as Bantu Clan The Tribe, the band is now captivating audiences with their distinctive "Unifying cultures and identifying indigenous sounds" brand, securing bookings across Uganda and gaining momentum in West Africa, South Africa, and Europe.
