Azawi

Azawi is a multi-talented singer-songwriter. Her early passion for music and dance was ignited by frequent visits to the Ndere Cultural Centre's dance festivals. She later joined the Kika Dance Troupe in 2005. After leaving the troupe, Azawi began singing in school, mentored by a friend and her brother who guided her as a singer-songwriter. This period marked the beginning of her songwriting career for local Ugandan artists. Her songwriting credits include collaborations with artists such as Lydia Jazmine, Nina Roz, and Eddy Kenzo.

Her talent as a songwriter led to her discovery by Swangz Avenue, propelling her onto a path to stardom. She is currently preparing to release her debut project, a five-track EP titled “LO FIT.” 2020 promises to be a significant year for Azawi, as she is also set to begin work on her debut album, currently untitled.
