About
Alice Violet Mutumba, known as AVM, began her career in the entertainment industry at age six as a child TV star in Uganda. After moving to London, England at eight, she cultivated diverse talents including singing, songwriting, basic music production, TV presenting, acting, and events management.
AVM seriously pursued music at 18, encouraged by her Performing Arts teacher. She enrolled in a music technology course, co-writing and producing pop songs with a German freelance producer. Three demo songs caught the attention of Nigel Wilderman, a Virgin Record label A&R executive, who advised AVM to continue writing for other artists.
Due to family circumstances, AVM paused her music career for over 14 years. During this time, while working as a Personal and Executive Assistant, she founded True Media. Through True Media, AVM created, edited, and published five editions of "True Magazine," a lifestyle, music, and fashion publication. She also developed "Music On The Catwalk (MOC)," a live music and fashion show concept that has been produced in London and New York, with plans for expansion into Africa.
AVM remained involved in the entertainment industry, serving as a producer for the NEA AWARDS, one of Nigeria's largest music award shows, in 2009, 2010, and 2012. She also briefly managed artists, co-founding the UK girl group Ange Noir and significantly contributing to the launch of Tatiana Durao's music career.
After a long hiatus, AVM has returned to music, collaborating with top producers for her upcoming debut album. Her first singles, "Kwata Ko" and "Whine Up," have achieved success in Uganda, with the follow-up single, "Happy, Lino essanyu," anticipated to be a major hit across Africa and the diaspora.
