Athen Lyre

Athen Lyre, born Mayombwe Patrick Wanny, is a Ugandan artist whose musical journey began in primary school. Inspired by Ugandan music legends like Sylver Kyangulayi, Lyre honed his songwriting and composition skills, eventually pursuing music production and songwriting studies in South Africa.

Working with producers at 4yard Records, Lyre initially focused on writing for other artists, crafting hits like "Your Joy" for Donald and "I Pray" by Tanny Tenny. He later stepped into the spotlight as a performer, releasing his own tracks. His song "African Girl" achieved significant success, gaining airplay across South African radio stations and Magic 100fm in Uganda, leading to an award nomination.

A versatile Afro-Pop artist, Athen Lyre is dedicated to his craft, aiming to write more music for Ugandan artists and collaborate with industry peers. He plans to launch his own company, Lyre Music Ent, to support and promote emerging Ugandan talent worldwide.
