Akiiki Romeo

Akiiki Romeo began his musical journey in Uganda, learning music in school and participating in traditional dance groups. He launched his career as a cabaret artist in 1989, subsequently enrolling in the School of Music at Makerere University, Kampala. His debut solo album was released in 1994, the same year he joined the Badindaz Band, performing with them until 1995. In 2001, Romeo became a member of the KADS Band. He has achieved significant success with several hit songs in Uganda, earning the Pearl of Africa Music Award for Best Live Band Single in 2003 for his track ‘No Parking’. On his second solo album, Romeo revisits his roots, incorporating traditional musical techniques.
