About
AfricanDofolo is a deeply mystical collective emerging from a chrysalis of storytelling and spirit. They are a powerful awakening energy within a universal grassroots movement of consciousness. Inspired by conscious forefathers like Marcus Garvey, Steve Biko, Bob Marley, and Lucky Dube, as well as the present conscious movement in Jamaica featuring Chronix and Kabaka Pyramid, AfricanDofolo sings with a voice whose frequency directly connects with human consciousness. Their beats follow the natural rhythm of the heartbeat, incorporating African folklore, idioms, percussions, and proverbs to convey messages of self-knowledge and consciousness.
Born from the shared vision of Kauta Sentio Henry, Hamba Patrick Andrew, and Kavuma Derrick, AfricanDofolo has spent years together in Jinja Town, East Uganda. This movement has faced negativity and hatred from some religious communities due to their unwavering focus on the emancipation of African people, aiming to break the psychological chains that bind minds. Despite being stereotyped and maligned, they remain steadfast in their calling.
Their song "#Lwaki" was born from frustration, a reflection of the constant prejudgment they and many others face in their lives.
